The Aylsham Manor

Aylsham Manor Care Home - near Norwich NorfolkResidential Care Home for the Elderly

A care home service tailored to your individual needs-The Aylsham Manor is a large 17th Century residential building set in beautiful grounds of approximately 3 acres in the heart of the town. The listed building has been modified over the past 40years to enable residents of all physical abilities to live in comfort supported by a team of dedicated carers.

We are able to offer up to 30 places to residents in 29 rooms. All our rooms are different and need to be seen to be appreciated- the ambience we try to deliver is that of a boutique hotel rather than care home. Our reputation means that we are almost always full so we encourage you to visit and see what we have to offer as a glitzy web page is no indicator of care.

We are also able to offer day care – please ring for further details. We have allocated one room for short term respite care. Please call for details and availability- advance booking is essential.

Aylsham is just eleven miles from Norwich with good bus links to the city and to Cromer and Sheringham. The National Trust’s Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are nearby and there are plenty of places to go with family and friends when they come to visit. Our home for the elderly is just minutes walk from the town centre which offers several pubs and tea rooms, butchers and greengrocers as well as three supermarkets.

The main aim of our family run care home is to provide comfort and first class care for our elderly residents – we encourage new residents to bring important personal effects with them to ease the transition into a new home. We strive to provide an excellent level of care – whatever your needs may- be from well trained staff. Medical care needs are supported by 2 local GP surgeries and an excellent community nurse team.

Whilst physical surroundings are important, we pride ourselves on our devoted care staff who strive to provide good care to the highest standards ensuring residents’ comfort and dignity. Our commitment to training means 75% of staff qualified to NVQ2 and above. The care provided can support people through most stages of later life and the Home was re accredited a Platinum Award for the Gold Standard Framework for End of Life Care in 2017.

Although there are organised daily activities, whether you join in is entirely up to you. We try to cater for differing abilities and interests so you will never be bored. There are plenty of opportunities for socialising with 3 large comfortable lounges. We arrange regular small group outings and and our weekly events mean that life is varied and fulfilling and we are sure you will soon feel that The Aylsham Manor is your home from home. Our monthly in house magazine, produced with resident input keeps every one up to date with the latest “news.”
